The nominees for this year’s BRIT Awards have been announced, with Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro and more up for gongs on May 11.
Dave Grohl and co. land in the International Group category alongside the likes of Run The Jewels and Fontaines D.C., the frontman sharing of their nomination: “If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times… we wouldn’t be the band that we are today if it weren’t for the UK. You’ve always been our second home, so it’s a great honour to be nominated this year. Can’t wait to put the ‘international’ back into our group!!!”
Biffy Clyro, meanwhile, join Bicep, Little Mix, The 1975 and Young T & Bugsey as British Group nominees, while elsewhere YUNGBLUD is up for British Male Solo Artist. “I have watched the BRITs every year since I can remember,” he tweeted alongside a video of his reaction to the news. “What makes the British music scene so rock’n’roll. I would watch Oasis and the Artic Monkeys cause trouble and I always wanted to be there and now to be nominated is mental!!!”
